“We’re continually in contact with the Homeland Security intelligence groups, and any information that’s relevant to aviation, is shared with us," said Szabo. "And we have multilayered security plan here at Hopkins and other domestic airports and any information we’re getting we’re acting on, and ensuring that we have a safe environment.”
The state department’s alert is in effect through February. Officials say intelligence indicates that militant groups wish to carry out further attacks across the globe. And Szabo says there’s no imminent threat to Northeast Ohio at this time. |
