If you’re looking to buy a home, Akron may be one of the best places to look.

A new study by online real estate company Trulia lists Akron as the most affordable city in the U.S. Trulia cites high middle-class incomes and low cost of buying homes for putting the city at the top of its list.

Ralph McLaughlin, an economist with Trulia, says Akron should continue to be a place where home buyers can get the most “bang for their buck.”

“Places like Akron and, actually, Cleveland -- the amount of income needed to buy a home is actually decreased slightly by about 1 percentage point," said McLaughlin. "So it’s actually very, very good news for home buyers looking to get into maybe their first home or just buy a home that’s a good deal.”

Dayton, Cleveland and Toledo also made Trulia’s top 10 list for affordable housing.
