The school district credits early recruiting for filling the nearly 600 teaching positions that came open at the end of the last school year.
Director of Talent Acquisition Brianna Koehler says there’s still 20 vacant teaching jobs, but the district doesn’t need to fill them unless absolutely necessary. |

“These 20 vacancies that are remaining, principals have identified that their school enrollment right now at this moment is down," said Koehler. "So we may not even have to fill that position technically unless enrollment does increase this first week. So we’re feeling really good about where we’re at for our over 100 schools to have less than 20 vacancies.”
The first day of classes for students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District begin this week. |
