“It’s a service that we want to be able to provide to our community and for those people outside our community that might not have direct access to a trauma center,” according to Guster.

The Clinic has four jets, three helicopters, and two mobile ICU ambulances in its Critical Care Transport fleet.

Akron General is one of five level 1 trauma centers in the region.

The others are Summa Akron City, MetroHealth Medical Center, Rainbow Babies and Children’s, and St. Elizabeth in Youngstown.
