“The cold winter has definitely affected our sales,” Petitti said. “It’s harder on our overhead because our bills are higher to keep our greenhouses warm and people aren’t coming in as much. And they’re not starting things as early because of the cold. It’s definitely been very difficult on the retail end."
Petitti says the cold weather only slows down the process of growing plants and vegetables, it doesn’t stop it. She says the center’s prices will be slightly higher than last year.
She predicts everything will be back to normal in time for the prom and wedding season. |
