Husted puts hearings on hold until Ohio Inspector General can investigate illegal immigrants obtaining Ohio license plates

The chairman of the State's Senate Government Oversight Committee says he's holding off on his committee's hearings into how thousands of undocumented illegal immigrants were able to register their cars and get Ohio license plates. Republican Senator Jon Husted says he's going to postpone those hearings so that Inspector General Tom Charles can have more time to investigate possible criminal behavior at the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The former head of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Henry Guzman, has resigned in recent weeks. Reports show more that 60,000 vehicles do not have a social security number attached to them, raising the possibility that they are fraudulent and could have been obtained by illegal immigrants in Ohio and other states.
