The Perry Nuclear power plant east of Cleveland has reduced power to 37-percent. The plant is operated by FirstEnergy. Company spokesman Todd Schneider says employees found a leak in the system that controls the turbine and reduced power to make repairs. Schneider says the plant should be back at full power within 24-hours.

Federal regulators say the plant has been operating safely over the past year. But they’re still concerned about the incidence of human error at Perry and have asked FirstEnergy to create a plan to fix the problems.
