Ohio's Gov. Kasich is beating Hillary Clinton in the Buckeye state
But 7-in-10 voters in Florida and Pennsylvania don't know Kasich at all

According to a new presidential poll, Gov. John Kasich is the only Republican who can beat presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Ohio. The Quinnipiac poll shows Kasich would defeat Clinton by seven points. But Pollster Peter Brown says there’s good news and bad news here.

“Gov. Kasich is doing very well in his own state – in Florida and Pennsylvania, he doesn’t do nearly as well. But given Ohio’s importance in the presidential election, running well in Ohio is certainly going to help his chances to get some recognition in the Republican nomination race,” Brown says. 

The Quinnipiac poll shows Florida Senator Marco Rubio beats Clinton in Florida and Pennsylvania, but she beats Rubio in a head-to-head matchup. But 7 in 10 voters in Florida and Pennsylvania don’t know Kasich at all, putting him behind the other Republican candidates in terms of name recognition.
