Lincoln Electric helps build Iron Man suit
Robotic welder prominent part of Hollywood film set

Reviews of the Sci-Fi adventure Iron Man 2 have been mixed, but for one local business the movie is already a big hit. Cleveland's Lincoln Electric helped outfit fictional handy-man Tony Stark's high-tech lab with its top of the line welding equipment.

The real genius behind the Iron Man gear is Brian Simons, a robotic programmer in the Automations Division of Lincoln Electric. Simons says the pressure of movie-making was not much different than work for his usual customers -

Simons operated the Powerwave  i 400 welder during the filming of Iron Man.  In addition to movie sets, Lincoln Electric provides welding equipment to automakers, machine shops, and manufacturers world-wide.
