Minority leaders assess loss of Cleveland Urban League
New funding models for financially strapped non-profits pondered

Greater Cleveland minority leaders are assessing the potential damage from the loss of one of the city's oldest social service agencies. The Urban League of Greater Cleveland will cease operations at the end of the month because of financial problems. For more than nine-decades, the chapter has helped minorities find jobs and start businesses through training programs and other support. Now, these services will either disappear or come from another provider. Other Northeast Ohio Urban Leagues are also facing problems of their own.
