WIKIMEDIA COMMONS

The Cavs began training camp this week on a much different tone. The face of the franchise, LeBron James, departed in the off season for the L.A. Lakers.

Terry Pluto said there's lots of mixed emotions. Some players are excited to see more playing time, while fans are bracing for a season of uncertainty.

Pluto says with James gone, there's no guarantee the team will even make the playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers start practice for the new season Tuesday, the first time in four years without star LeBron James.

The Cavs have signed all-star Kevin Love to a new four year contract, and that’s a sign they plan to get to the playoffs again.

A big trade could still happen but coach Ty Lue says team owner Dan Gilbert is motivated to win, not rebuild from scratch.

The Mayor of Los Angeles joined Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan today for a tour of the new school that LeBron James helped make possible.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti toured the I Promise School, which opened this school year for third- and fourth-graders. LeBron James has called it the kind of school he wishes he could have attended when he was a kid in Akron.

THE LEBRON JAMES FAMILY FOUNDATION

A new depiction of LeBron James hangs in the basketball star's I Promise School in Akron. According to LeBron James Family Foundation, Phoenix-based artist Kris Rhymes created the piece, called "Kings Music" and brought it to the school where he also shared  a lesson on art with the students. “I hope 'Kings Music' will serve as a source of inspiration to the students of the I Promise School,” Rhymes says.
