When U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown decided weeks ago against running for president next year, many speculated it was because former Vice President Joe Biden was planning to run.

Asked for his thoughts on Biden's announcement today, Sherrod Brown said that he doesn’t comment on any individual’s strengths or weaknesses as a candidate.

However he continued to push all Democratic candidates to focus on a pro-worker message.

As for the packed Democratic slate that now has more than 20 candidates?

Former Vice-President Joe Biden visited Northeast Ohio Saturday, one of many big names from both sides of the aisle coming here ahead of the election.

Biden was at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights for a get-out-the-vote rally.  Speaking in a hoarse whisper, he said he's appeared at a half-dozen events this week since the whole world is watching this election.  He added that when meeting with world leaders this year, they ask him to explain how the U.S. can be so divided.

Former Vice President Joe Biden was in Youngstown Monday night for a rally with Ohio Democrats. He opened his comments with a call for unity after the shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Biden said the violent events of the last week required leaders who could unite the country.

But this was a get-out-the-vote rally. So he criticized the Republican Party for favoring corporations over working people and seeking to gut Social Security and Medicare. He urged people in attendance to reverse Republican control of Ohio government.

Milkshakes in hand, former Vice President Joe Biden and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray encouraged students at Ohio State to vote in next week’s election.

UNIVERSITY OF DELEWARE

Ohio Gov. John Kasich took the stage with former Vice President Joe Biden this afternoon in Delaware to talk about bridging the partisan divide. As WKSU’s M.L. Schultze reports, though President Trump was rarely mentioned by name, his administration was repeatedly invoked as a challenge to democracy.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Vice President Joe Biden are speaking together tomorrow  in Delaware. As WKSU’s M.L. Schultze reports, it’s leading to more talk about Kasich as the GOP’s bipartisan counter to President Trump.

The joint appearance called “As We Stand Divided” is sold out. It’s to focus on how to bridge political and partisan divides in Washington.

In these days of mega-money fundraisers and micro-targeted ads, Joe Biden still likes to do politics the old-fashioned way. WKSU’s M.L. Schultze reports on how the vice president spent the time between his two headline appearances in Lordstown and Parma yesterday.

Eastern Ohio’s Trumbull County leans traditionally Democratic – but there’s  a lot of support this year for Donald Trump. And a handful of people were holding Trump signs outside the union hall where Joe Biden spoke.

Vice President Joe Biden will be in Warren and Parma tomorrow, stumping for Hillary Clinton – whom he had briefly considered challenging in the Democratic primary. WKSU’s M.L. Schultze has more on appearances with autoworkers in which Biden is expected to directly tackle Donald Trump.

Biden campaigned in the Mahoning Valley a half dozen times during the presidential races of 2008 and 2012. Jaladah Aslam, a union retiree who now is a labor and political consultant, says the vice president knows the valley at a more intuitive level as well.
