A team at Case Western Reserve University has come up with a new approach to treating Multiple Sclerosis. They’ve also launched a business to bring the new therapy to market.

The company is called Convelo Therapeutics.

More than five million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease.

And according to the Alzheimer’s Association, that number could double in the next two decades as baby boomers age and people live longer.

Despite massive research efforts, we still don’t know the root causes of the disease or how to treat it.

That’s why local researchers are looking in new directions to solve the mystery of Alzheimer’s, as WKSU’s Jeff St.Clair reports in this week’s Exploradio.

The Alzheimer’s Association has been lobbying state lawmakers to increase awareness of the disease and lobby for more public money to fight it. 

Republican House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger says 5 million Americans are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
