WKSU listeners can enter a drawing for a pair of tickets to see Cleveland Ballet's Fall Collection at the Ohio Theatre in Playhouse Square on Oct. 19 and 20 (winners will have a choice of performance dates). Cleveland Ballet showcases the powerful, sultry side of ballet in their ‘Fall Collection’ performance premiering three performances October 19 & 20. The evening will open with Momentum. Choreographed by Artistic Director Gladisa Guadalupe, this piece is set to the fast-paced magnificent score of Felix Mendelssohn’s piano Concerto No. 1 in g minor. Two famous and more classical pieces, Don Quixote pas de deux by Marius Petipa and from the ballet Le Corsaire, a pas de trois between the characters of Medora, The Slave and the Pirate will also be showcased.
To culminate the evening, a full company piece in an original one-act ballet choreographed by Guadalupe entitled Provocativo and led by world re-known bandeon player, Julien Labro musicians and dancers will transport the audience to the atmosphere of Argentinian cafés where groups of artists who gather to unwind from their daily demands and find themselves exposed to passion, desire and ultimately new love adventures. Set to Astor Piazzola’s music, Provocativo, is a dance piece that will transport, ignite passion and imagination to all.
