It's the WKSU Hunger Challenge!

Last year, 49.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, 33.3 million adults and 15.8 million children.

Our local food banks are in the front lines of helping alleviate hunger in Ohio.

Contribute now to WKSU and your donation will be matched dollar for dollar.

Right now, WKSU listeners have the opportunity to donate to WKSU and have their contribution matched dollar for dollar with an equal amount going to support the Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, or Second-Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.

Make your pledge and make a difference today!

Hunger in America is nothing new. But that doesn’t mean that hunger is something that should be tolerated, especially when the solution to hunger is so clear.

WKSU depends on listener contributions to pay for the programs you enjoy every day. Likewise the regional food banks depend on the community to serve hungry families in Northeast Ohio.

Our matching donors thought WKSU and the hunger centers should work together. And each year that’s just what we do. So right now, when you donate $60, or any amount to WKSU, matching dollars go to regional food banks.

For every matching dollar the food banks receive, they can provide 4 or more meals. Your donation of $120 can generate 480 meals to community members in need. Donate $180 and you can generate 720 meals, or how about a dollar-a-day, your donation could generate about 1,460 meals!
