It was on this date in 1927 when Charles Lindbergh took off from New York in his Spirit of St. Louis airplane. He would land in Paris 33 hours later to become the first person to complete the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic ocean. And it was on this date in 1932 when Amelia Earhart became the first woman to repeat Lindbergh's feat.
