Al Petteway & Amy White -- Coventry Carol -- Pat-a-Pan

Al and Amy "fell in love" with Coventry Carol, but were a bit hesitant when they saw that John Floridis had included it in a medley he'd already recorded for Ornaments. They were very eager to do that song, but said they'd fall in love with something else, if they had to. They were just thrilled to be asked to be on the show.

Well heck, we were thrilled to have them! In a flurry of fun (even silly, at times) e-mails with our producer, we assured them that their treatment of Coventry Carol wouldn't be redundant, as John used it as a second melody, and their arrangement would likely be very different, in any case.

It very much was different, and very unique. What a wonderful way to follow up our special moment with Pete Seeger than to segue into the hauntingly beautiful, luxuriously contemplative sounds of their Coventry Carol. Then, not to leave us contemplative for too long, Al and Amy bring in an invigorating reminder of the excitement of the season with their percussive Pat-a-Pan. Oh yes, we were very thrilled Al and Amy recorded for Ornaments and Icing!
