Susan heard this song by a Canadian group called Finest Kind. Peter Bellamy, an English musician who toured with Young Tradition in the 60's, set Rudyard Kipling's words to music. She recorded it for us in Philadelphia. Why this song? "...it had the most honest take on that brotherhood of man thing I'd heard in a long time. Go 'Yard."
Susan started performing at age five, playing guitar and singing in her church. She learned it all by ear. She earned a Masters in Classical Voice from Temple University, and after graduation she began playing guitar again, quickly gaining popularity locally and going on tour nationally with Richard Thompson and Joan Armatrading. She blends elements of folk, jazz and pop music. Philadelphia Magazine wrote that she has "enough charisma to make Radio City Music Hall feel like an intimate night club."
