This is the only Christmas song on their first children's record, "Peter Paul & Mommy" (Warner Bros 1785). On the show Noel Paul tells us how he came to write Christmas Dinner almost forty years ago.
Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey & Mary Travers make up perhaps the most famous folk group of all time. Certainly one of the longest lasting with original members. But then, Peter Paul & Blanch? Peter Oscar and Mary? It would have been hard to change personnel. Noel Paul has been praised for his delicate and beautiful guitar work in the trio, as well as his resonant baritone. As contrast to this (too sappy???) song, he also authored "I Dig Rock n Roll Music" (along with Mason & Dixon).
