It means "little (Christmas) tree," and was written by Tish. This is an edit combining two tracks of the same name, one sung in English, the other in Spanish, from Tish's "Memorabilia Navidena" CD (Watermelon CD 1006). On the show, Tish sets it up for us by giving us a little story of why she ended up sitting and talking with the Christmas tree.
Tish Hinojosa commonly works in both English and Spanish, bringing her San Antonio cross cultural influence beautifully into view. With a Tex/Mex feel and a silky voice, she has been warming audiences for twenty years. She has this to say about the music she presents: "It's not a question of English and Spanish, and even though I'm very selective about the words, there are things in these songs beyond the lyrics -- passions that come out in the textures of the music."
