Update 11:20 a.m.: Judge Mason is facing a charge of felonious assault

A Cuyahoga County judge and former state lawmaker was arrested over the weekend on domestic violence charges. Lance Mason is due in court late this morning. He was arrested Saturday afternoon in Shaker Heights. A Democrat, Mason was in the Ohio Senate and House and was an aide to Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones before then-Gov. Ted Strickland appointed him to the bench in 2008. He sits on the common pleas court, which hears felony and higher level civil cases.
