Economy and Business Monday, January 28, 2013 Northeast Ohio city gets record-shattering unclaimed money Elyria has the largest unclaimed fund of $3.4 million by WKSU's STATEHOUSE CORRESPONDENT BILL COHEN |
 Reporter Bill Cohen | | |
In The Region: Virtually every day, some people type their name into a special internet site and discover that they are owed money that's sitting in Ohio’s Unclaimed Funds system. It could be a long-forgotten rent deposit, an abandoned savings account, or an un-cashed utility refund. Today, Ohio commerce officials made history when they handed over an unclaimed funds check; not to a person but to a Northeastern Ohio city. David Goodman is the state commerce director. He tells the story to Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen. |
