Economy and Business Wednesday, October 24, 2012 Huntington Bank adds 250 Ohio jobs Huntington Bank CEO says the new jobs wouldn't be possible without passage of recent law. by WKSU's STATEHOUSE BUREAU CHIEF KAREN KASLER |
 Reporter Karen Kasler | | |
| A change in state law on credit cards is credited with bringing hundreds of jobs to Ohio. Huntington Bancshares CEO Stephen Steinour says the Columbus-based bank will add the jobs as it develops its own line of business and consumer credit cards. |
“250 new jobs,” Steinour says. “That’s a lot of jobs for us, and to bring those here in Ohio is a moment we are particularly happy to announce and share with you.”
The new law, which passed with bipartisan support, allows Ohio-chartered financial institutions to charge rates and fees above the state's current maximums. Steinour said the jobs would be in customer service and marketing, among other areas. |
