Crime and Courts Thursday, October 18, 2012 Former Cuyahoga County auditor facing more than 20 years in prison Frank russo pleaded guilty to taking more than a million dollars in bribes by WKSU's KABIR BHATIA |
 Reporter Kabir Bhatia | | |
| Former Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo may be heading to prison in a matter of weeks, with a sentencing date of Oct. 25.
The move comes as the U.S. attorney’s office says it’s just about done with its star witness in the Cuyahoga County corruption case.
Russo pleaded guilty two years ago to taking more than a million dollars in bribes and kickbacks. But he stayed free so he could testify against other defendants.
Prosecutors say they’ll outline the full extent of Russo’s cooperation and make a specific recommendation regarding his sentence. He faces more than 20 years in prison. |
