JobsOhio lawsuit; Captain America comes to Cleveland

  • Captain America comes to Cleveland
  • JobsOhio lawsuit
The Ohio Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Governor Kasich’s private, non-profit job creation board against the Ohio Department of Commerce. Kasich filed the action against Commerce Director David Goodman after he refused to transfer the state’s liquor profits in a 25 year, $1.4 billion deal to fund JobsOhio. Goodman said he couldn’t comply until a high court addresses whether JobsOhio is constitutional.  In a 4-2 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that only a lower court can clarify the group’s legal status.

    Captain America in Cleveland
Cleveland is getting a big boost on the big screen next year.  The Greater Cleveland Film Commission announced today that parts of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will be filmed here for a 2014 release.

And the film will be directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, Cleveland natives whose credits include “Arrested Development” and “Community.”

This is the second Marvel Studio's project filmed here after "The Avengers," which was the fastest film ever to gross $1 billion.
