The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association is the latest group to oppose a proposed constitutional amendment to change the redistricting process. The organization joins a long list of groups that have joined the Ohio Republican Party in its opposition to the plan. One long time former Republican state lawmaker and agency head, Joan Lawrence, is coming out in support of the proposal that she says would allow a board made up of ordinary people, not politicians, to draw the lines for congressional and legislative districts. She says the current system allows politicians to pick their voters instead of the other way around.
