Ohio Monday, September 10, 2012 Investigation clears police actions in Cracker Barrel shootings Cuyahoga prosecutor says Brookly police action was appropriate by WKSU's M.L. SCHULTZE |
 Web Editor M.L. Schultze | | |
In The Region: Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason says Brooklyn police did nothing wrong in a shootout at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in April that ended with a man killing his estranged wife and two daughters.
The review of the police actions was done by the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
On April 11th, Brooklyn police had responded to a call of a domestic dispute at the restaurant on Tiedeman Road.
That’s where 51-year-old Kevin Allen of Strongsville had gone with a loaded12-guage shot gun. After police arrived, he shot 42-year-old Katerina Allen, and their daughters, 10-year-old Kayla and 9-year-old Kerri. As he emerged from the restaurant with the gun, police then shot and killed him.
Mason today called the police action “appropriate.” |
