Governor John Kasich at ceremony creating Jobs Ohio program

State income tax credits up to 55 % will be used by area companies to help fund expansions; and employment.  The deals,  involving credits for five to ten years, and more than four hundred new jobs, were put together by Jobs Ohio…the organization of regional business boosters created by the Kasich administration to privatize economic development.

Cleveland Range, a maker of commercial kitchen equipment is looking to double its work force of 179.  Step2, the Streetsboro toy company will add up to 125 jobs.  Avon’s L&W Engineering, FTI in Valley City, GrafTech of Parma, and Cleveland Construction, combined, will add 131 new people.

Tax breaks must be approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority; that came this week.  Companies getting credits have to keep the added jobs for from 8 to 13 years depending on the deal.
