Environment Wednesday, August 29, 2012 Pelican lands in Atwood Lake

In The Region: Ohio birders have been flocking to Atwood Lake in Carroll County to spot a brown pelican. The gulf coast bird with a wingspan up to 6 and a half feet long is rare in Ohio. This is only the sixth brown pelican ever spotted in the Buckeye state.
