Ohio Tuesday, July 3, 2012 300,000 Ohioans still without power Most won't have electricity again until Saturday night by WKSU's STATEHOUSE CORRESPONDENT BILL COHEN |
 Reporter Bill Cohen | | |
| Ohio continues to be one of the states hardest hit by Friday night's windstorm. More than a million homes and businesses in the eastern U.S. are still without electricity...and that includes an estimated 300-thousand in Ohio. Ohio Public Radio's Bill Cohen has this update. |
“American Electric Power says more than half of its Ohio customers who lost power now have it restored, but that’s not much consolation to hundreds of thousands of others. They’ve been told not until Saturday night will almost everyone’s power be back. An AEP vice president says the mess here is even worse than the aftermath of Hurricane Ike in 2008. Mike Kirkpatrick says not only has this year’s storm cut off more people’s electricity, it has caused more damage to electric lines, poles and generating stations.” |
