Ohio Tuesday, July 3, 2012 Cable customers can be reimbursed for lost service during storms Call your cable company to receive credit by WKSU's STATEHOUSE BUREAU CHIEF KAREN KASLER |
 Reporter Karen Kasler | | |
| It’s probably down on the list of things people are thinking about after this weekend’s violent storms – but if the lights are back on and there’s no cable, it’s frustrating. State law allows customers to get a credit for disruption of service on their cable bills - but Dennis Ginty with the Ohio Department of Commerce says you have to call the cable company to get the credit. |
“When a customer reports a weather-reported interruption that lasts more than 24 consecutive hours, the customer can receive a credit for each hour of the service disruption.”
And customers can get credit on their bills even if they don’t have power and can’t check to see if the cable is working. But Ginty says they need to call the cable provider to find that out. |
