Thursday, June 21, 2012 Gov. Kasich has not been told to spin unemployment numbers by Romney Romney says improvements in the economy clash with his message by WKSU's STATEHOUSE CORRESPONDENT JO INGLES This story is part of a special series.

 Reporter Jo Ingles | | |
| An article in Bloomberg says Mitt Romney’s campaign has asked Florida to downplay improvements in that state’s economy because they clash with Romney’s message that the nation is suffering under President Obama. Ohio Governor John Kasich says the campaign has not asked him to do the same. |
“Look, I mean our message is pretty clear. And I’ve told Romney himself this….we are improving. We are up 94 thousand jobs which is great but we still have the wind at our face. And I was very nervous about the last unemployment numbers and I’m nervous about the next month’s unemployment numbers. When you have all of this uncertainty out of Washington, you have a problem.”
Ohio’s jobless rate is seven point three percent. Kasich says that’s way too high. And he says Ohio could do far better if Romney were elected president. |
