Politics Thursday, June 14, 2012 Obama speaks on job growth in Ohio during campaign stop in Cleveland Obama says manufacturers have created almost 500-thousand jobs in the country during the last 27 months by WKSU's KABIR BHATIA |
 Reporter Kabir Bhatia | | |
| Campaigning in Cleveland today (Thursday) at Cuyahoga Community College, President Barack Obama said the country is still recovering from the 6 million manufacturing jobs lost in the past decade. But he added that job growth is happening here in Ohio, and around the country. |
“Manufacturers have started investing in America again, including right here in Ohio. And across America, we’ve seen them create almost 500-thousand jobs in the last 27 months. The strongest period of manufacturing job growth since 1995.”
The President spoke for nearly an hour, and made an unscheduled stop at the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland after the speech.
On the other side of the state, in Cincinnati, Mitt Romney said Obama’s health care plan has frightened businesses and made them less likely to hire employees. |
