Wednesday, May 16, 2012 Discussions between Cleveland bishop and closed parishes continue Parishes were closed due to low funds and attendance by WKSU's KEVIN NIEDERMIER |
 Reporter Kevin Niedermier | | |
| Meetings continued today between Cleveland Catholic Bishop Richard Lennon and members of closed parishes he is being forced to reopen.
The 12 parishes were among 50 that the bishop had closed due to shrinking congregations and finances. But earlier this spring, the Vatican overturned the bishop. Phyllis Fuller Clips of St. Adalberts in Cleveland met with the bishop for two hours this afternoon. |
Fuller Clips says she and Bishop Lennon talked about what St. Adalberts means to them, and that the parish must be self-sustaining. But she says the topic of finances has not been discussed yet.
So far, Bishop Lennon has met with four of the 12 closed parishes. |
