Terry Pluto shows two of his four draft guides that break down the stats of the players to watch in the April 26 NFL draft

Toting draft guides
Terry Pluto has four draft guides –books that highlight the players and describe who’s going to be in the draft. Each one costs as much as $32.

Terry talks tongue-in-cheek about the books that he says he has to have to be able to write about the draft for his Plain Dealer columns:

“You have to know these things…do you have tight hips or loose hips? I mean that’s a big thing if you are a defensive back.”

Exerpts from the guides
Looking at one of his guides, Terry Pluto reads a couple of exerpts:

“Jarius Wright from Arkansas, 5’8”, 182 pounds, small-framed and wispy. He’s quick-twitched, he’s a slot receiver mismatched weapon who fits well into a versatile sophisticated passing attack."

Pluto says some of the books list how many kids the players have out of wedlock. Some have arrest reports and other personal details:

“Ryan Broyles…wide receiver of Oklahoma, engaged to a girlfriend of six years. That’s the first thing it says – engaged to a girlfriend of six years.”

Another part of the draft is the Wonderlic test.

Pluto says, "it's sort of IQ test; it's 12 minutes. It's kind of like an ACT...You want to be up near 30 and these tests aren't supposed to be leaked…Well Morris (Claiborne of LSU) scored a four. I talked to an NFL executive who was just insensed that this came out because Morris has a learning disability."

Browns fans should know:
Terry Pluto mentions a couple names of players the Browns are looking at:

Trent Richardson, a running back from Alabama and Morris Claiborne, a defensive back from LSU.

The draft starts April 26th and continues April 27th and 28th. Pluto adds: "And you know what happens on April 30th? You start looking at the 2013 draft."
