 | | Akron native Lebron James addresses community and Boys and Girls Club members in the Joy Park Community Center Gymnasium during the unveiling of a clubhouse that bears his name. | | Courtesy of Dawn Einsel | Lebron James unveiled a new Boys and Girls Club today in a neighborhood where he played basketball in his youth. James donated $240,000 from the Lebron James Family Foundation to renovate an unused area of the Joy Park Community Center. Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic and dozens of young Boys and Girls Club members thanked the towering athlete, who says he still needs to give back to his community. |

The Lebron James Clubhouse will open to members on September 12. James kicked off his recently revamped bike-a-thon yesterday in downtown Akron. He will be inducted into the St. Vincent St. Mary’s athletic hall of fame tonight. |
