The seven-member Ohio Casino Control Commission will oversee what's expected to be a multi-billion dollar industry springing up through Ohio's four new casinos. As of now, 47 people have put in for slots on the board, including 13 from Northeast Ohio. Cuyahoga County Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones is among them. He calls it an exciting opportunity to hold the gambling industry accountable to its promises of economic growth.

Lawson Jones will lose his job as county commissioner in January, when Cuayoga County goes to a new form of government.  The governor is expected to pick the seven members of the board in September. They have to be confirmed by the state senate. The law says four of the seven members must be from the counties hosting the casinos: Cuyahoga, Lucas, Franklin and Hamilton.
