Cleveland Councilman who led effort to get Gay Games suspects jilted cities have sour grapes

Questions remain about a rift between the Federation of Gay Games and the group designated to run the 2014 Gay Games in Cleveland. The Cleveland Synergy Foundation refuses to comment on reports that it lost the right to produce the games because of financial irregularities. But a Cleveland city councilman says the controversy won't keep the games from coming to Cleveland no matter how hard rival cities try to fan the flames.

Softball was one of the many events at the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago. The 2010 events begin at the end of July in Cologne, Germany and the 2014 Gay Games are set for Cleveland and Akron in August of 2014.
