Economy and Business Tuesday, April 6, 2010 Cedar Fair ended deal with Apollo Global Management Cedar Fair will find other way to get rid of debt Story by KAYLEE REMINGTON |
| | |
| The parent company of Cedar Point and one of the largest operators of amusement parks in the world, has called off the deal to sell itself to Apollo Global Management. Apollo had planned to pay 635-million dollars for Cedar Fair, and assume 1.7-Billion dollars in debt. But big and small investors were cool to the deal.
Spokeswoman Stacy Frole says Cedar Fair will find a way to handle its debt without the sale, and is negotiating with its bankers. |
Cedar Fair owns a dozen amusement and water parks in North America. It accumulated much of its debt when it bought Paramount Amusement Parks in 2006. |
