Bill in Ohio Senate would require Ohio schools to offer healthier food choices, more time for exercise
Plan to help fight childhood obesity has some bipartisan support, as well as support from special interest groups

The proposal to require Ohio schools to offer more exercise and healthier meals and snacks to students has garnered a rare mix of supporters. Among them are: liberal and conservative lawmakers, big corporations, doctors, insurance companies, food processors, and even soft drink manufacturers. The measure got its first hearing this week in the Ohio Senate Health Committee.
