Ohio Thursday, July 02, 2009 Ohio Lottery vendor switch-over causes some glitches
by WKSU's STATEHOUSE BUREAU CHIEF KAREN KASLER |
 Reporter Karen Kasler | | |
| It was a tough day for some Ohio Lottery retailers, who have been dealing with glitches from a vendor switch-over. The Lottery says a few winning tickets were not recognized, and the new system did not properly read some tickets from the system being replaced. Lottery director Mike Dolan says it was a major undertaking. |
Dolan says most problems were simple, such as retailers not remembering new passwords or printers that were not properly connected. And he says sales are up with the new equipment and software in place. The Ohio Lottery decided last year to change its operator to the Greek company Intralot, which triggered a lawsuit from Rhode Island-based G-TECH, which had been the Lottery's vendor since 1985. |
