Indiana casino owners fight against casino construction in Ohio Friday, September 26, 2008
Owners of an Indiana gambling casino have joined the fight against an Ohio ballot issue that would legalize a giant casino here.
This development means - instead of the usual gambling war between David and Goliath, Ohio voters will now see a battle between two different Goliaths.

Penn Gaming is No On 6, they are paying $20 million in ads to stop Ohio from getting there first Casino. All Lies about MyOhioNow. Why because they own the Argocy River boat in Indiana.
They Claim Ohio is 40% of there business, they do $480 million a year. If you were going to loose 40% of your business wouldn't you do or say anything to stop Ohio! DA! .... Its all about Money ! Don't let other States tell you what to do or take your freedom of choice away from you!
Remember they also own Toledo Race Way Park and they were for slots in Horse Tracks last time under learn and earn in 06. Posted by: tom sterni (willoughby) on October 1, 2008 11:58AM
I also oppose Issue 6 -- WHY?
It monopolizes the casino industry for Ohio... only ONE! The moneys from taxes will be distributed with 10/90 cut -- 10% for the casino county and the other 90% to be broken down by county population. Whatever will Williams County do with the $3.97 it will receive? NW Ohio is very sparsely populated.
Secondly, for me to drive down to the new casino will take approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Gee, I want to go gambling, not touring. I can get to 7 other casinos in Michigan and Indiana in less than 2 or 2.5 hours. I can win/lose there so why would I want to add another 2 hours to my driving experience?
Now if they were to allow casinos in all the major cities, like Toledo for NW Ohio, then I'd be out the banging the drum and selling the point but to drive to just north of Cincinnati to keep my Ohio dollars in Ohio? No, I don't think so.
