Social Security is a lot healthier than a lot of people think. It's the other things people are counting on for retirement that may be a problem. In their latest examination of the status of the middle class, Akron Beacon Journal reporters David Knox and David Giffels found that disappearing pensions and savings make Social Security perhaps the most stable leg of the retirement hopes of Ohioans. I fit the bill of the young (late 20's) new family trying very hard to save for retirment. My wifes tutition repayment will be more than our mortgage payment! Yikes...Our motto is "Make do. Do with out. Wear it out."
