New report may raise questions about the number and costs of governments

Northeast Ohio has 656 local governments,including school districts, township police departments, libraries and county governments. For awhile, reformers have suspected that's a duplicative and costly way to do government business. The Fund for our Economic Future has no absolute stance on that. But it does have a new report that it hopes will push questions about the number and cost of governments.
