A renewed interest in urban living is returning to Akron

Spicer Village provides upscale townhouses

The city of Akron thinks a new townhouse complex will draw people back from the suburbs. Spicer Village units are modern, convenient and pricey. The developers are targeting buyers who would fit right in.

The exterior of one completed building at Spicer Village in the 40-block University Park area west and south of the University of Akron.
ASW Properties is showcasing two units, with 25 more in construction and 75 others planned.
The living room area of one of the units that features Ikea-style furniture. The condos start in the $170,000's and come with 1,121 to 2,175 square feet over a two-car garage.
University of Akron is helping its employees buy a unit by offering to pay $10,000 of the purchase price.
The units have areas to study in between floors with stylistic lighting and windows.
The kitchens have stainless steel appliances and granite counters.
