New book explores streetcar building in Ohio.
Built to Move Millions: Streetcar Building in Ohio by Craig Semsel examines the history of streetcar manufacturing.

As gas prices continue to rise and traffic congestion frustrates drivers, many cites are discussing commuter rail as an alternative. Most major cities had extensive streetcar systems in the early 20th Century and Northeast Ohio was among the leaders in streetcar manufacturing. A Lorain County Community College Professor has a new book about the streetcar in Ohio, what happened to it and why bringing it back might be a good idea.
