Flooding causes problems, but receding quickly Wednesday, February 6, 2008
Flooding remains a problem in Northeast Ohio but officials are expecting rivers and streams to steadily recede. The Cuyahoga River overflowed its banks in Independence and Old Portage and some Eastlake residents were asked to evacuate near the Chagrin River. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park closed portions of the towpath trail in Summit and Cuyahoga counties. The Nimishillen Creek in Stark County, which has a history of flooding, closed some schools.
