State Encourages Hunters to Harvest Wild Boar

WKSU's Karen Schaefer reports
Deer hunting season opens next week and for the first time Ohio wildlife officials are asking hunters to keep their rifles ready for a new animal. Populations of wild boar and feral pigs are on the increase, particularly in the southeastern part of the state. Officials say the animals can do a lot of damage to wildlife habitats and to farms. They're hoping hunters will also decide to take home a wild boar or two.
