In The Region: Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan campaigned in Ohio today for the fifth time since Friday. Ryan was joined by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for a rally at Baldwin Wallace University. Rice said the nation is at a crossroad, and this election is about turning it around. Ryan says President Obama has only one new idea, and that is raising taxes. |

He said he’d cut the deficit in half in four years. Wrong. He said he’d bring people together to solve the country’s biggest problems. Look, the other day on, TV, the president said “I can’t change Washington from inside.” Isn’t that why we elect presidents? All I have to say is if he can’t change Washington, then I say it’s time that we change presidents and elect Mitt Romney, the next President of the United States.
The Obama administration says Republicans in Washington have refused efforts at bi-partisan solutions to the nation’s problems.
After the rally, Ryan and Rice visited the Cleveland Browns’ practice facility, at the Baldwin Wallace campus. Rice is a long-time Browns fan.
From Cleveland, Ryan went on to a fund raiser and rally in Columbus.
President Obama is holding a rally tonight at Ohio University in Athens. |
