| Two new independent polls released today (Thursday) indicate President Barack Obama remains ahead of his Republican challenger Mitt Romney here in the key swing state of Ohio. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen has the basic numbers, plus some numbers behind the numbers. |
A Quinnipiac poll shows Obama maintaining a small lead in in the three swing states Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida. In Ohio, Obama leads Romney, 50 to 44 percent. That's no different from when Quinnipiac polled Ohioans Aug. 1, but in Florida and Wisconsin, the lead has narrowed since the beginning of August. Obama's lead is now 49 to 46 in Florida and 49 to 47 in Wisconsin.
A University of Cincinnati poll that came out today reveals a too-close-to-call Presidential race in Ohio. In that poll, Obama leads Romney 49 to 46. |
